On November 02, 2025, Ten Japanese Delegates visited the Patiya Central Buddhist Monastery & Welfare Complex, where they observed the noble initiatives of the Nalanda Institute of Buddhist Education. The event was marked by an inspiring and heartfelt atmosphere, highlighted by a stirring performance of the national anthems of Bangladesh and Japan by the students of Nalanda Institute, led by Miss Swapneela Barua. The rendition of the Japanese national anthem moved the delegates to tears, reflecting the deep emotional connection fostered during the program.
The delegates were warmly welcomed with floral garlands and a ceremonial crest presented by our students. Following the welcome, the students offered prayers for world peace, creating a serene and meaningful moment. Venerable Dr. Sanghapriya Mahathero, Secretary General of Bangladesh Sangharaj Bhikkhu Mahasabha, Founder and Principal of Patiya Central Buddhist Monastery & Welfare Complex, and Nalanda Institute of Buddhist Education, delivered a heartfelt welcome address. He provided an in-depth overview of the monastery and the institute’s mission and activities. At the conclusion of his speech, he presented upcoming project proposals to Mr. Futoshi Kono, Director of Ship International Hospital, Uttara, Dhaka.
Mr. Futoshi Kono, deeply touched by the event, shared his thoughts, stating, “The children’s recitation of suttas and their performance of both the Bangladeshi and Japanese national anthems filled us with profound emotion. It was a beautiful moment of friendship between our two nations.”
We express our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Sabuj Barua for his exceptional efforts in organizing this visit. Special thanks go to Adv.
